Our Approach

Threshold is a non-profit, education-based, LGBTQIA+ friendly organization. Our mission is to empower people of all orientations, genders, races, religions, ethnicities, affiliations, and roles to explore BDSM/Kink in a safe, sane, informed, and consensual way. Through our dedicated programs of education & outreach, we hope to shed some light on the BDSM/Kink lifestyle and spread awareness about BDSM/Kink in general.

Community Outreach

By educating the next generation of doctors, therapists, law enforcement officers, politicians, etc., we have a better chance of creating a world that is more understanding and tolerant of the BDSM/Kink lifestyle, as opposed to the current norm of ignorance-based judgment.

Empowerment

We want those who are interested in BDSM/Kink to understand that their feelings and desires are natural. These feelings and desires, when expressed in a healthy way, can be an amazing positive enhancement to our lives.

Understanding

We know that the majority of people aren’t kinky, but we still want that majority to understand us. That way, when they encounter someone who is a family member, friend, client, co-worker, etc. who practices BDSM/Kink, they will not react with the fear and disgust that is commonly applied to people in the BDSM/Kink community.

What is a Threshold panel discussion like?

A group of our club’s experienced speakers and educators will visit and sit down with your company, group, agency, or organization. They will briefly introduce themselves, then offer discussion and education about the BDSM/Kink lifestyle. After the speaking portion, they will answer questions from your group about any subjects that were discussed.

Panel Discussion

We offer our panel discussions to colleges, law enforcement agencies, and the fire department with hopes of alleviating their biases regarding the BDSM/Kink lifestyle.

Free of Charge

The Threshold Society does not charge for educational visits to your organization or agency.

Interviews

By doing interviews on radio, TV, and podcasts, the Threshold Society hopes to help discern the myth from the reality of BDSM/Kink and other alternative adult lifestyles.
